Why Should I Try Laser Therapy?
Laser therapy is a fast and effective treatment option. It is no invasive and does not have any side effects. Many people experience vast improvements in symptoms after just one visit.
How Does Laser Therapy Work?
Laser therapy works by a process called photobiomodulation. When the laser light penetrates the skin, it is absorbed by the targeted cells. As the cells absorb this light, they convert into energy (ATP – Adenosine triphosphate). This speeds up collagen synthesis and therefore repair of the tissues.
What Will I Feel During Treatments?
A soothing and therapeutic warmth is felt during laser therapy. Most people feel a reduction in muscle tension, less stiffness and reduced swelling. There is no pain associated with laser therapy.
How Long Do Sessions Last For?
Sessions are based on how long it takes to significantly reduce symptoms. This is usually accomplished in 10 minutes or less, with pain often abolished completely.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Improvements with laser therapy occur very quickly. Acute conditions usually require 5-6 treatments. For chronic conditions, it may take 6-12 treatments. The number of sessions is always based on the individuals progress and is not a set amount. For lifelong conditions, your doctor may recommend 1 or 2 treatments a month to manage pain.
