Kate Atkins
PT, DPTKate Atkins received her Bachelors degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Medical Anthropology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kate continued her education at the George Washington University in Washington, DC where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Throughout her graduate education, she participated in research with a focus on treatment for vestibular hypofunction using virtual reality and went on to present her research at the ANPT Conference in 2023. Kate’s interests include treating patients with vestibular and balance impairments, post-stroke, and other neurologic conditions. These interests led her to clinical experiences in both inpatient rehab and outpatient settings through George Washington University, Tidelands Health, and Inova Mount Vernon Hospital where she was able to treat a wide variety of patient populations. She is passionate about improving the quality of life for her patients and providing treatment that is catered towards unique goals. Kate is excited to start her career as a Physical Therapist at Fyzical-Shady Grove at CADENT/Siegel, Bosworth and Sorensen Division.
